Tom has lived in and served the Cook County Community for his entire adult life and legal career. As a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney for 26 years he has been a champion for the people of our community.
INTEGRITY
Tom’s track record of integrity and strength of character demonstrates the fairness with which he will operate as a judge. Tom has fought corruption as the head of the Public Corruption and Financial Crimes Unit for Cook County, successfully prosecuting many corrupt officials and employees in an adverse environment.
REFORM
Currently serving as the Chief of the Juvenile Justice Division for Cook County, Tom has been a central figure in transforming our Juvenile Justice System, spearheading initiatives that are powerfully impacting victims, offenders, families and communities.

As an expert in criminal and juvenile justice Tom has successfully tried every possible kind of criminal case – from misdemeanors to serious and violent felonies – giving him the experience essential to being an effective judge.
